Lighting Up the Darkness: a Hanukah JAM

December 18th at 3:00 PM

From ancient times people have looked to the heavens as daylight hours shrink and the darkness grows, and they have joined together to figure out how to create light even in the midst of the darkness.  Enter the ancient stories that explore how people made light to overcome the darkness, experience the techniques firsthand, and help light up the darkness!

Shabbat Morning JAM Tot Program

This new initiative, developed in 2014 and funded by the Harold and Renee Berger Family Engagement Endowment Fund, brings exciting, fun and educational programs to children and families.  Guest artists such as music-educator Chana Rothman, cookie-pro Debbie Werlin of Cookie Lab Philly and ZoomDance! collaborate with GJC rabbis to lead Shabbat services, afternoon programs and other events with song, dance, storytelling, art, music, puppetry and more.
