Hazak (55+) Film & Discussion: "Frozen River"

Frozen River is a complex film, starring Melissa Leo as a single mother of two boys who must sustain the family and find the money for a trailer home before her deposit is lost. She takes some risky measures she would not ordinarily take. In her desperation she also forms a strong, loyal relationship with an unlikely native American woman, which brings this ongoing national issue into focus.  Major themes of the film include poverty, illegal immigration and single parenting on the face of extra ordinary adversity. Difficult and very moving.
