Charry Memorial Shabbat Service & Portrait Dedication for Rabbi Emeritus Leonard Gordon

How can religious leaders play a role in peace building between Israelis and Palestinians? Can shared text study be a meaningful part of that process? Our weekend together will look at a wide range of sacred scriptures with a special emphasis on texts from the Qur'an.

9:30 AM Charry Memorial Shabbat Service & Portrait Dedication for Rabbi Gordon

Beit Midrash: "Angry People, Angry God"

When is anger productive and when is it destructive? Biblical and rabbinic literature is full of anger, both human and divine. We’ll study a variety of texts (in translation) dealing with anger to find models that help us channel our anger in constructive directions.

Beit Midrash for adults will take place each Shabbat morning from 9:30-10:00am in the Magil Chapel.  Please feel free to enjoy coffee and cocoa on the Religious School landing beginning at 9 AM.
