Parent Mussar Va'ad
Instructor: Mindy Shapiro
Four sessions: Sep 25, Oct 16, Nov 20, Dec 4 - 9:45 - 22:15 a.m.
The Parent Mussar Va'ad aims to create a cohort of learners committed to the study of Mussar and to one another. This group is open to all GJC parents of children in K-7th grade (Religious School and Day School alike); we ask that you register and make every effort to attend all sessions, as each one builds upon the last. Mussar is a Jewish mindfulness practice that teaches us to balance our own needs with the needs of others in our lives. Through text, study and practice, we learn to live with gratitude and with compassionate concern for those around us. Parent Mussar takes this practice into the home - and participants will gain valuable parenting skills through learning and integrating middot (values) into their daily family interactions.
